New baby in the house?

Your baby depends on you for so many things: basic care, like feeding, bathing, and changing; but also for their learning, health, and safety!

You are your child's first and most important teacher! While that is a huge responsiblity, it is also the most rewarding.  Here are ten things you can do to give your baby a great start in life.

Building Your Child's Language Skills

Children start to build language skills during the first years of life.  In fact, children who do not get a good start have a lot of trouble catching up later. Children are especially learning language rapidly during the period of sixteen to thirty months. By 3 years of age, most children are able to speak in complex sentences.

First experiences with language come from you, the parents, this is why it is so important to talk and sing with your children as much as possible! There are things you can do to help your child develop their language skills further.
