Welcome to Smart Start of Davidson County
Vision
We envision Davidson County as a community committed to providing opportunities for young children.
Mission
Smart Start of Davidson County engages the community to ensure that all children reach their potential.
Smart Start of Davidson County, Inc. is the non-profit organization charged with implementing North Carolina's Smart Start and More at Four school readiness programs for children birth through age five. This organization has a successful record of improving the quality of child care, parenting resources, access to health care, and other support systems for Davidson County children.
Economic development experts say that a world-class education system will
attract businesses to our state. First-class early childhood support is
part of that system and
it contributes to the quality of life for our
community.
Studies have shown that all, and especially low-income children who participate in model child intervention programs are more likely to attend college and be in a high-skilled job or higher education at age 21. Smart Start promotes and funds these types of programs.
We invite you to join in support to advance the education, health, and well-being of Davidson County's future - its young children! We are mandated by North Carolina to attract at least 10 percent of our annual budget from private sources and grants. Smart Start of Davidson County is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and your contributions are tax deductible.
